The Management Information Exchange’s (MIE) Journal will again spotlight Feldesman Partners Rosie Dawn Griffin and Scott S. Sheffler in a forthcoming article, Let’s Get Direct About Indirects: What You Need to Know About a Negotiated Cost Rate Agreement for Your Federal Grants and Contracts.  In this follow-up discussion to their prior publication, Ms. Griffin and Mr. Sheffler sit down with legal aid and funding expert Karen Lash to explore the benefits of negotiated indirect cost rate agreements for Legal Aid organizations.

Throughout the conversation, the Partners emphasize the purpose and full utility of indirect cost rate agreements and proposals and the effectiveness of the indirect cost rate proposal in establishing agreed cost recovery methodologies on complex costs.  Additionally, Ms. Griffin and Mr. Sheffler, along with Ms. Lash, stress the importance of indirect rates as a useful tool in establishing additional compliance safeguards for organizations receiving federal funds.
