Feldesman Partners Gabriel García and Marcie Zakheim will present at the Health Choice Network’s 31st Annual Board Educational Conference, taking place from June 20 – 22, 2025, in Marco Island, FL. 

During the event, Mr. García and Ms. Zakheim will provide training and tools for health center board members to competently and efficiently carry out their roles and further their health center’s mission. The attorneys will discuss regulatory and compliance requirements in the following sessions:  

• “Welcome to Bootcamp: Mastering the Basics of Responsible Governance”
  • This introductory session will provide new board members with a strong foundation of their responsibilities and accountability, including fiduciary duties, the role of the board, and managing conflicts of interest.

• “The Latest from HRSA: Avoiding High Risk Areas and Achieving Effective Governance”
  • Building on the foundational governance session, this presentation will explain how the Health Center Program Requirements apply to health center board members. Mr. García and Ms. Zakheim will discuss recent changes to federal oversight and compliance processes and share actionable strategies to mitigate risk in health centers.

• “Navigating Hot Topics and Legal Developments Impacting Health Centers and Their Board Members” 
  • The current health care environment is constantly shifting, with new restrictions on federal funding and its use, updated grant conditions, and threats to the 340B Drug Discount Program.  Focusing on real-life scenarios for boards, the presenters will offer guidance to stay up to date and address problematic areas as they arise.
