Feldesman Welcomes Adam Oppenheim as Counsel in the Federal Grants Practice
Washington, DC — Feldesman LLP is pleased to announce that Adam H. Oppenheim has joined the firm as Counsel in its Federal Grants practice. A seasoned attorney with over two decades of experience in grants administration, policy interpretation, and organizational compliance, Mr. Oppenheim brings a unique perspective shaped by leadership roles across government, nonprofit, and private-sector institutions.
At the National Endowment for the Humanities, Mr. Oppenheim oversaw a portfolio of more than 300 awards, providing strategic guidance to grantees nationwide and helping strengthen compliance systems for complex, federally funded programs. His prior work at the U.S. Small Business Administration included a pivotal role in implementing the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program, one of the largest federal relief efforts supporting arts and cultural organizations during the pandemic.
“Adam’s depth of experience in both administering and advising on federal grants gives him an uncommon understanding of the challenges our clients face,” said Ted Waters, Managing Partner of Feldesman LLP. “His insight into how federal agencies operate will enhance our ability to serve grantees navigating an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.”
Earlier in his career, Mr. Oppenheim served as Director of Legal Affairs and Acting CFO for a multi-unit hospitality group in the Washington, DC area, where he oversaw contracts, vendor negotiations, and compliance operations.
In addition to his professional work, Mr. Oppenheim serves as Treasurer and Board Member of the DC Blues Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving and promoting blues music in the nation’s capital. In this volunteer role, he provides financial oversight and strategic guidance to support the organization’s community programming and cultural initiatives.
Mr. Oppenheim earned his Juris Doctor from American University, Washington College of Law, and his Bachelor of Arts from Colby College. He is based in the Firm’s Washington, DC office.
