Washington, DC — Feldesman LLP is pleased to announce that Andrea C. Harris, former General Counsel of a federally qualified health center (FQHC), has joined the firm as Counsel in its Health Care Practice.  Ms. Harris’s addition further strengthens Feldesman’s nationally recognized work on behalf of FQHCs, behavioral health organizations, and other mission-driven health care organizations.

Ms. Harris brings more than a decade of experience advising nonprofit organizations on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, enterprise risk management, and strategic operational matters. Most notably, she served for several years as in-house General Counsel and Director of Corporate Compliance for a multi-site FQHC, where she advised executive leadership, committees, and boards on the same regulatory, governance, and operational challenges faced daily by Feldesman’s clients.

Ms. Harris’s practice focuses on health care compliance for FQHCs and other community-based organizations, including compliance program design, HRSA and Joint Commission audits, FTCA-related issues, enterprise risk management, employment matters, and corporate governance. She has guided organizations through federal, state, and accreditation reviews and has extensive experience leading internal investigations and managing complex compliance matters. Ms. Harris works to align mission, vision, and strategic goals specific to each client’s objectives and needs.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Harris practiced as outside general counsel to nonprofit and business clients, representing organizations in commercial, employment, and intellectual property matters, including litigation in state and federal courts.
