Gustavo E. I. Matheus has over 25 years of experience advocating and advising on health care reimbursement statutes, regulations, case law, contract interpretation and enforcement and revenue cycle processes. Mr. Matheus represents providers of health care services in areas relating to reimbursement and claims denials, managed care, Medicare, Medicaid, network participation and credentialing, revenue cycle and medical records and privacy. His clientele encompasses a diverse range of entities, including single-clinician practices, multi-physician groups, nursing home facilities, hospital systems, and allied health care practitioners.
Before joining the Firm, Mr. Matheus practiced at a civil litigation law firm in Maryland. In this role, he counseled health care institutions and organizations through revenue cycle denials management, contracts, claims settlements and negotiation, guardianship matters, arbitration and litigation, technical and clinical appeals, regulatory compliance, and administrative hearings. Mr. Matheus is also an AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rated lawyer, the highest rating given by Martindale-Hubbell for legal ability and ethical standards.
Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Matheus is actively involved in education, contributing his wealth of knowledge to students in undergraduate programs, law schools and medical institutions.
