Washington, DC – Feldesman Leifer LLP (Feldesman) announces the expansion of its Health Care Practice Group with the addition of two experienced health care attorneys, Gustavo E. I. Matheus and Kirsten N. Haalboom, along with their dedicated support team. Mr. Matheus joins the firm as a Partner, and Ms. Haalboom joins as a Staff Attorney.  

Bringing over 25 years of experience to the firm, Mr. Matheus is a seasoned advocate and advisor concentrating in health care reimbursement statutes, regulations, case law, contract interpretation and enforcement, and revenue cycle processes. He has successfully represented providers of health care services in various critical areas, including reimbursement and claims denials, managed care, Medicare, Medicaid, network participation and credentialing, revenue cycle, and medical records and privacy.

Ms. Haalboom’s practice focuses on assisting health care providers in workers’ compensation litigation, contract negotiation, arbitrations, claims and litigation related to patient care, insurance, and provider compliance with state code.

Led by Mr. Matheus and Ms. Haalboom, the Revenue Cycle Management Group includes a clinical nurse reviewer, a revenue cycle manager, and data and project analysts.  Together, they provide a comprehensive suite of services to a diverse range of health care entities, including single-clinician practices, multi-physician groups, nursing home facilities, hospital systems, and allied health care practitioners.
