FLSA Overtime Rule Enjoined

By | Published On: November 28, 2016

On Tuesday, November 22, a Texas Federal court issued a nationwide injunction preventing the implementation of FLSA overtime rules scheduled to take effect on December 1.  Under the rules, salaried workers earning less than $47,476 annually would be eligible for overtime pay. This was a preliminary injunction preventing implementation until the court decides the case on the merits.  At this point, it is not clear what, if anything, the government will do in response to the court’s ruling, given the pending change in Administrations.
