FTLF Managing Partner Leads Workshops at South Carolina Head Start and Community Action Partnership Conference

FTLF Managing Partner Ted Waters will present multiple workshops at the 2023 Statewide Mid-Fall Training Conference in North Charleston, SC from October 30 – November 3, 2023. The event is hosted by the South Carolina Community Action Partnership and the South Carolina Head Start Association and attended by hundreds of community action and Head Start professionals from across the state. 

On Wednesday, November 1, Mr. Waters will present three sessions, two focused on Head Start issues and one for all federal grantees. In “Head Start IM on Significant Incidents-Strategies for Dealing with the Inevitable,” Mr. Waters will address the compliance with the Office of Head Start’s most recent health and safety information memorandum as it relates to compliant reporting and implementing procedures to align with the new requirements. 

During his session, “FQHC – Collaborate or Become One, Choices and Considerations,” Mr. Waters will explore collaborations between health centers and Head Start programs and the benefits a joint program can provide its service area.

Finally, Mr. Waters will discuss the end of the federal grant lifecycle during “Audits & Audit Findings: Strategies for Managing and Resolving Issues.”  This session will focus on federal grant audits, including final reports and responding to findings.
