Ted Waters, managing partner of Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP and nationally recognized for his expertise in federal grants law, will be conducting a training on Wednesday, August 21st for the D.C. Bar on the “Nuts and Bolts of Federal Grants Law”. The course, running from 5:30 pm to 8:45 pm, is worth three CLE credit hours and will provide a comprehensive introduction to federal grants or a solid review for those in need of a refresher course.

Mr. Waters, along with fellow instructor Julie Muroff, of the Department of Health and Human Services, will discuss the definition of a federal grant and the difference between types of grants; the ground rules of federal grants and where to find the rules (statutes, regulations, agency guidance); the key federal actors (grants officer, program specialist, etc.); and the legal issues in grant administration (before, during, and after the award). As an added bonus, the course will feature an in-depth discussion of government audits, grant disputes, fraud and abuse issues, and administrative and judicial litigation.
